Polishes gems, ingots, plates, rods, and pipes to increase their sell value. The Polishing Machine has no walls so items can fall out if overloaded.
Contaminated and rendered non-functional by coal and raw ores . When contaminated, it makes an alarm beeping, the normally green light turns yellow, and the polishing rollers darken. Even if a contaminant is removed, the machine will not resume normal function for the entire duration that the item would have been in the machine. Also, the coal or ore exits the machine as it's crushed variety (clusters remain as clusters).
